When Caroline saw Jessica Seinfeld on the Today show talking about her New York City-based charity Baby Buggy and its Million Diaper Drive, she was struck by a comment Jessica made–that low-income moms have to choose between buying diapers and buying food on a daily basis–and mentioned it to Melissa. Both women knew how hard it was to be a new mom and the thought of the added stress of trying to provide basic necessities such as food and diapers broke their hearts. In 2005, LA Diaper Drive was born.

Prior to becoming a mom, Melissa worked as a communications strategist for the White House, non-profits, and in politics. She received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.

In addition to her philanthropic experience spanning twenty years, Caroline worked as a casting director for many of television's most popular reality-based shows. She received a Master of Public Policy from the University of Southern California, an International MBA from Richmond College in London, and a B.A. in History/Art History from UCLA.

In 2008, Melissa moved to San Diego and Caroline has assumed full responsibility of LA Diaper Drive, managing the all-volunteer charity.
